Sweet Sour Red Cabbage

Ingredients
- 1 medium head red cabbage shredded
- 12 c vinegar
- 23 c sugar
- 2 large bay leaves
- sprinkling of pepper
- 1 Tbsp butter
- Accent
Directions
- Cook cabbage until just tender with 1 teaspoon salt and 12 cup water
- Retain 12 cup cooking liquid
- Add remaining ingredients
- Cook about 5 minutes and let stand
- Heat when ready to serve
