Swiss Steak
Ingredients
- 1 12 lb round steak about 1 inch thick
- 14 c flour
- salt and pepper to taste
- 3 Tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 large onion sliced
- 1 large rib celery sliced
- 14 lb generous mushrooms
- 1 clove garlic finely chopped
- 1 8 oz can stewed tomatoes
- 14 tsp dried crushed basil
- 14 tsp dried crushed oregano
- 14 tsp dried crushed thyme
Directions
- Trim excess fat from steak
- Pound flour into the meat Sprinkle with salt and pepper
- In a large skillet heat oil
- Add steak and brown meat on both sides over medium heat
- Place steak in baking dish about 12 x 8 x 2-inch
