Tart Sweet Potato Apple Bake

Ingredients

• 6 medium sweet potatoes peeled
• 2 c thinly sliced apples
• lemon juice
• 12 c brown sugar
• dash of cinnamon
• 14 c butter
• 12 c water

Directions

1. Slice potatoes in 12-inch rounds
2. Cook in a small amount of water until almost tender
3. Preheat oven to 350
4. Butter a shallow baking dish and make alternate layers of sweet potatoes and apple slices
5. Sprinkle apple layers with lemon juice sugar and cinnamon
6. Dot with butter and pour water over all
7. Bake 1 hour or until potatoes are very tender
8. Serves 8 to 10
