Tart Sweet Potato Apple Bake
Ingredients
- 6 medium sweet potatoes peeled
- 2 c thinly sliced apples
- lemon juice
- 12 c brown sugar
- dash of cinnamon
- 14 c butter
- 12 c water
Directions
- Slice potatoes in 12-inch rounds
- Cook in a small amount of water until almost tender
- Preheat oven to 350
- Butter a shallow baking dish and make alternate layers of sweet potatoes and apple slices
- Sprinkle apple layers with lemon juice sugar and cinnamon
- Dot with butter and pour water over all
- Bake 1 hour or until potatoes are very tender
- Serves 8 to 10
