Tea CakesSugar Cookies

Ingredients

• 1 14 c soft margarine
• 2 c sugar
• 2 eggs
• 4 tsp baking powder
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 tsp nutmeg
• 5 c flour
• 12 c milk

Directions

1. Cream margarine and sugar
2. Add eggs and beat until fluffy Stir together dry ingredients and add alternately with milk
3. If dough is sticky add flour to handle
4. Cut out with cookie cutters Place on ungreased baking sheets
5. Bake in moderate oven at 350 to 375 for 8 minutes
6. These are called sugar cookies now but used to be called Tea Cakes
