Tea CakesSugar Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 14 c soft margarine
- 2 c sugar
- 2 eggs
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- 5 c flour
- 12 c milk
Directions
- Cream margarine and sugar
- Add eggs and beat until fluffy Stir together dry ingredients and add alternately with milk
- If dough is sticky add flour to handle
- Cut out with cookie cutters Place on ungreased baking sheets
- Bake in moderate oven at 350 to 375 for 8 minutes
- These are called sugar cookies now but used to be called Tea Cakes
