Tea Tarts

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg yeast
  • 14 c warm water
  • 3 c flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 c shortening
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 c quick oats
  • 1 c thick sour cream
  • jam dark berry works best
  • lots fresh air

Directions

  1. Soak yeast in water until dissolved
  2. Mix dry ingredients and shortening as for pie crust
  3. Combine everything as for pie crust Combine everything just until blended and chill for several hours or overnight
  4. Roll on sugared board 18 to 14-inch thick
  5. Cut in squares
  6. Put spoon of jam on center of square and fold three cornered
  7. Press edges together
  8. Place on pans and let raise 30 minutes
  9. Bake at 350 for 20 to 25 minutes
