Terrific Freezer Biscuits

Ingredients

• 3 c self-rising flour
• 1 Tbsp sugar
• 3 tsp baking powder
• pinch of cream of tartar
• 34 c shortening
• 1 egg beaten
• 1 c buttermilk

Directions

1. Combine dry ingredients in mixing bowl mix until mixture resembles coarse crumbs
2. Add milk and egg together
3. Mix well and turn out on a floured surface knead several times
4. Roll out to 34-inch thickness
5. Cut out in 2 12-inch biscuits
6. Put on a greased cookie sheet and freeze
7. When biscuits have frozen place in a plastic bag in the freezer and take out when needed
8. Makes about 2 dozen
