Texas Straw Hats
Ingredients
- 3 lb ground beef
- 1 c diced onions
- 1 c diced green pepper
- 1 c diced celery
- 2 to 3 Tbsp cooking oil
- 1 large can tomato paste
- 2 cans water
- 2 Tbsp chili powder
- 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 c cheese shredded Colby Jack or Cheddar
Directions
- Brown ground beef in one skillet and drain
- Meanwhile saute onions pepper and celery in 3 tablespoons cooking oil just until onions are clear and celery is still crisp
- Combine browned beef with sauteed veggies in a large pot
- Add remaining ingredients and simmer 20 minutes
- Serve over Fritos and top with grated cheese
- Serves 6 as main dish or many more when used as a Dip for holiday parties
