Texas Straw Hats

Ingredients

  • 3 lb ground beef
  • 1 c diced onions
  • 1 c diced green pepper
  • 1 c diced celery
  • 2 to 3 Tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 large can tomato paste
  • 2 cans water
  • 2 Tbsp chili powder
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 c cheese shredded Colby Jack or Cheddar

Directions

  1. Brown ground beef in one skillet and drain
  2. Meanwhile saute onions pepper and celery in 3 tablespoons cooking oil just until onions are clear and celery is still crisp
  3. Combine browned beef with sauteed veggies in a large pot
  4. Add remaining ingredients and simmer 20 minutes
  5. Serve over Fritos and top with grated cheese
  6. Serves 6 as main dish or many more when used as a Dip for holiday parties
