Toasted Almond Truffles

Ingredients

  • 12 c undiluted Carnation evaporated milk
  • 14 c sugar
  • 1 11 12 oz pkg Nestles milk chocolate morsels
  • 12 to 1 tsp almond extract
  • 1 c finely chopped almonds toasted

Directions

  1. Combine evaporated milk and sugar in small heavy-gauge saucepan
  2. Cook over medium heat until mixture comes to a full rolling boil
  3. Boil 3 minutes
  4. Stir constantly
  5. Remove from heat Stir in morsels and almond extract until morsels melt and mixture is smooth
  6. Chill 45 minutes
  7. Shape into 1-inch balls
  8. Roll in almonds
  9. Chill until ready to serve
  10. Makes about 2 12 dozen truffles
