Traditional Southern Fried Okra

Ingredients
- 14 c corn meal
- 1 tsp salt
- 14 tsp pepper
- 6 c 12 inch thick sliced okra
- 12 c vegetable oil
Directions
- Combine cornmeal salt and pepper in plastic bag
- Add okra and shake well to blend and coat 1 cup of okra at at time to cornmeal mix
- Put 14 cup oil into a cast iron frying pan and heat until hot
- Add coated okra a little at a time until brown
- Yield about 10 servings
- Add additional oil as needed
