Valentine Cookies

Ingredients

• 6 Tbsp butter or margarine
• 23 c sugar
• 1 egg well beaten
• 12 tsp vanilla
• 2 c sifted enriched flour
• 2 tsp baking powder
• 14 tsp salt
• 14 c milk

Directions

1. Cream butter or margarine and sugar
2. Add egg and vanilla and beat well
3. Sift flour baking powder and salt add to creamed mixture with milk to form a dough
4. Chill
5. Roll out to 12-inch thickness
6. Cut with heart shaped cookie cutter
7. Place half of the cookies on a lightly greased baking sheet brush each with water
8. Cut smaller heart shaped centers from remaining cookies and place the heart frames on top of cookies
9. Bake at 375 for 10 to 12 minutes
10. Cool fill center heart space with cherry filling
