Vanilla Custard

Ingredients

  • 1 12 oz can evaporated milk
  • 2 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 eggs
  • 14 c sugar
  • 12 tsp salt
  • pinch of salt

Directions

  1. In a small heavy saucepan whisk milk and cornstarch until blended
  2. Whisk in eggs sugar salt and vanilla
  3. Cook over medium low heat whisking constantly until mixture thickens and you can see the bottom when whisking
  4. Cool
  5. Makes enough to fill a 9 inch pan
