Vanilla Fudge

Ingredients

  • 3 c sugar
  • 1 c canned milk
  • 13 tsp cream of tartar
  • 2 Tbsp white Karo syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 Tbsp butter

Directions

  1. Stir sugar and canned milk until dissolved heating slowly to a slow boil will scorch easily
  2. Place cream of tartar on side of pan and dissolve before mixing thoroughly
  3. Cook slowly to soft ball stage
  4. Add Karo syrup
  5. Set aside to cool
  6. Add vanilla and butter
  7. Cool to thumbprint
  8. Beat until smooth
  9. Add nuts and pour into greased pan
