Vegetarian Chili With Rice

Ingredients

  • 1 15 12 oz can red kidney beans drained
  • 1 15 12 oz can Great Northern beans drained
  • 1 14 12 oz can tomatoes undrained cut up
  • 34 c green pepper chopped
  • 12 c onion chopped
  • 1 8 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 Tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 12 tsp dried basil crushed
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 c water
  • 2 c hot cooked rice

Directions

  1. Combine kidney beans Northern beans undrained tomatoes tomato sauce pepper onion chili powder sugar basil garlic and water in a large saucepan
  2. Bring to boiling and reduce heat Simmer covered for 15 minutes stirring occasionally
  3. Top each serving with 12 cup rice
  4. Serves 4
