Velvet Pound Cake

Ingredients

• 1/2 lb. butter
• 1/2 c. Crisco
• 5 eggs
• 3 c. flour (cake)
• 3 c. sugar
• 1/2 tsp. baking powder
• 1 c. milk
• 1 tsp. vanilla
• 1 tsp. lemon
• 1 tsp. almond or flavor desired

Directions

1. Mix butter and Crisco, cream with sugar and eggs.
2. Mix 1/2 cup of milk and flour, then add other half cup of milk.
3. Add flavors and baking powder.
4. Beat.
5. Bake 1 1/2 hours at 300°.
