Velvet Smooth Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • 34 c soft butter
  • 12 tsp nutmeg
  • 12 tsp grated lemon peel or lemon extract
  • 12 tsp vanilla
  • 2 14 c sifted powdered sugar
  • 3 large unbeaten eggs
  • 1 12 c all-purpose flour

Directions

  1. Combine butter and flavorings gradually beat in sugar and cream until light and fluffy
  2. Beat in 1 egg 14 cup flour and repeat until eggs are used add remaining flour and stir until smooth
  3. Spread batter in greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan
  4. Cut through with knife to break air bubbles
  5. Bake at 325 for 1 hour Remove from pan immediately
  6. Cool on cake rack
