Velvet Smooth Pound Cake
Ingredients
- 34 c soft butter
- 12 tsp nutmeg
- 12 tsp grated lemon peel or lemon extract
- 12 tsp vanilla
- 2 14 c sifted powdered sugar
- 3 large unbeaten eggs
- 1 12 c all-purpose flour
Directions
- Combine butter and flavorings gradually beat in sugar and cream until light and fluffy
- Beat in 1 egg 14 cup flour and repeat until eggs are used add remaining flour and stir until smooth
- Spread batter in greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan
- Cut through with knife to break air bubbles
- Bake at 325 for 1 hour Remove from pan immediately
- Cool on cake rack
