Viennese Brownies
Ingredients
- 1 8 oz pkg cream cheese room temperature
- 13 c sugar
- 1 egg beaten
- 14 tsp almond extract
- 2 sq 1 oz each unsweetened chocolate
- 12 c butter
- 2 eggs beaten
- 1 c sugar
- 34 c sifted flour
- 12 tsp baking powder
- 12 tsp salt
Directions
- In a bowl combine softened cream cheese sugar and 1 egg
- Add almond extract set aside
- In small saucepan melt chocolate and butter together
- Cool
- Beat 2 eggs
- Add sugar and chocolate mixture
- Beat in sifted and combined flour baking powder and salt
- Pour half the chocolate mixture into a well-greased and floured square baking pan 8-inches
- Gently spread the cream cheese mixture
- Top with remaining chocolate mixture
- Bake in 350 oven 45 to 50 minutes until cake tester inserted in center comes away clean
- Cool in pan before cutting into rectangles or squares
