Virginia Baked Beans
Ingredients
- 6 strips bacon
- 1 onion
- 1 clove garlic
- 12 c brown sugar
- 12 c wine vinegar
- 1 tsp mustard
- 1 can kidney beans drained 16 oz
- 1 can butter beans drained 16 oz
- 1 large can baked beans 30 to 40 oz
Directions
- Fry bacon until crisp
- Chop onion and garlic
- Fry in 2 tablespoons of bacon fat until soft
- Add vinegar sugar and mustard
- Simmer for 5 minutes
- Mix the drained kidney beans and butter beans in a large baking dish with the baked beans
- Crumble bacon and add then mix in the onion and sugar mix
- Bake in a 350 oven for 1 hour
