WayneS Asparagus Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 can asparagus drained save liquid
  • 1 can LeSueur English peas drained
  • 1 can cream of asparagus soup
  • 1 c cheese grated
  • 3 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 4 Tbsp butter
  • 3 Tbsp flour
  • 12 c milk

Directions

  1. Melt butter in saucepan
  2. Add flour liquid from asparagus and cream of asparagus soup heat until creamy
  3. Combine milk and cornstarch add this to mixture and cook until thickened
  4. In casserole dish layer with 12 of the English peas and 12 the asparagus then covered with half of thickened sauce and repeat with remaining peas asparagus and sauce
  5. Top with grated cheese and bake at 350 until heated throughout and cheese is melted about 15 to 20 minutes
