Ingredients

  • 2 pkg active dry yeast
  • 12 c warm water
  • 12 c brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp salt
  • 14 c shortening
  • 2 14 c warm water
  • 6 or 7 c Gold Medal flour wheat
  • soft butter

Directions

  1. Mix together water and yeast
  2. Add other ingredients
  3. Knead for 10 minutes
  4. Shape cover and let rise 1 hour in a warm place in a well-greased bowl
  5. Punch down place in greased loaf pan Let rise 1 hour and bake 40 to 50 minutes at 375
