Whole Wheat Light Rolls

Ingredients

  • 2 pkg yeast
  • 12 c warm water
  • 1 34 c scalded milk
  • 12 c sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 Tbsp shortening
  • 3 to 4 c whole wheat flour
  • 3 c white flour
  • 2 eggs beaten

Directions

  1. Combine milk sugar salt and shortening
  2. Cool to lukewarm then add eggs
  3. Add 1 cup of each of the flours and mix well Soften yeast in warm water and add to first mixture
  4. Stir in remaining flour and put in greased bowl in refrigerator
  5. Cover with greased wax paper
  6. Two hours before baking remove from refrigerator and knead lightly
  7. Shape into rolls and let raise Bake at 425 about 10 minutes or until brown
