Ingredients

  • 1 pt milk
  • 12 c sugar
  • 12 c shortening
  • 14 c warm water
  • yeast cake
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 12 level tsp soda
  • heaping 12 tsp baking powder
  • 3 c sifted flour

Directions

  1. Heat together milk sugar and shortening
  2. When cool add yeast cake that has been dissolved in 14 cup warm water
  3. Add enough flour to make a thin cake dough
  4. Let rise 1 hour
  5. Add soda baking powder and salt
  6. Sift flour and add to mixture Work well
  7. Put in refrigerator and use as needed
  8. When making rolls let rise 3 hours
